NAKO Group: Consolidation of Partnerships Firmly on track

NAKO Group, an African-owned multidisciplinary engineering powerhouse, formed exactly two years ago with the amalgamation of three specialised consulting engineering firms, is proud to announce the change of trading names of their subsidiaries previously known as ILISO Consulting (Pty)Ltd, Triocon Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd. and Lategan Bouwer Engineers (Pty) Ltd to NAKO ILISONAKO LBE and NAKO TRIOCON respectively. The change in trading names will be effective as of 1 March 2016.

The establishment of a consolidated firm to serve the African continent through the delivery of world-class engineering solutions is a vision shared collectively by the leadership of each of the subsidiaries under the capable guidance of Fuzile Felix Fongoqa, NAKO Group’s Executive Chairman since inception.

Through this initiative NAKO Group is now able to provide an even wider portfolio of world-class engineering services in Infrastructure & Logistics, Sustainability & the Environment, Buildings & Facilities and Mining & Industrial. In addition to the national footprint of regional offices within South Africa, NAKO Group also have offices in Namibia, Uganda and Zambia.

With a strong legacy of excellent delivery of projects under their belt as individual brands, amalgamation under the banner of the NAKO Group is already proving to yield positive results in their approach to acquiring new clients, and sustaining existing relationships.

A sterling example of confidence from clients and growth within the African Markets is the recent award of a major water reticulation contract to NAKO ILISO by the Nkane Water and Sewerage Company in Kitwe, Northern Zambia – a project value of USD200M. NAKO Group has specialised and diverse capacity and capability that will enable all of its subsidiaries to actively participate in projects of this nature.

“This is just the beginning of an exciting journey that will build on the strong foundations already created by each of the subsidiaries”, said an upbeat Fongoqa this week, at their Centurion-based head office. “I am encouraged by the positive and welcoming response we have received from various stakeholders, who have shared existing relationships with one or all of our subsidiaries.”

“We are mindful of the hurdles that one encounters when one is embarking on such a fragile but rewarding path. It is for this reason that we are taking a deliberate and meticulous approach to dealing with the detail of the consolidation. In this way, we are certain to have considered all elements of uncertainty that change generally brings with it. I am delighted that our common vision of being an African owned multi-disciplinary powerhouse of consulting engineers remains our true north”, explains Fongoqa.
